Summary, etc. ฅนซื่อบื้อ เป็นวรรณกรรมเยาวชนอีกเรื่องหนึ่งของโรอัลด์ ดาห์ล ที่นักอ่านรุ่นเยาว์เกือบทั่วโลกได้สนุกเพลิดเพลินกันมาแล้ว ผู้เขียนได้แสดงพฤติกรรมของสามีภรรยาคู่หนึ่ง ซึ่งอาจจะเรียกว่า 'ฅนซื่อบื้อ' ในนิยามว่าบ้าๆ บ๊องๆ ไม่รู้จักกาลเทศะ โดยเฉพาะตัวละครในเรื่องมีอุปนิสัยพิเศษ คือ ชอบกลั่นแกล้งกัน ชอบคิดและทำสิ่งชั่วร้าย เป็นฅนสกปรก ไร้ความเมตตากรุณาต่อเด็กและสัตว์ ตอนกลางของเรื่องจนถึงตอนจบ ผู้เขียนแสดงภาพเปรียบเทียบระหว่างสามีภรรยาคู่นี้กับพวกสัตว์ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งพฤติกรรมที่ฉายให้เห็นความคิดและจิตใจ ซึ่งอาจนำไปสู่ข้อสรุปได้ว่า 'สามีภรรยาคู่นี้คือตัวแทนของฅนชั่วคนเลว' โรอัลด์ ดาห์ล ยังมีความหวังหลงเหลืออยู่บ้างเล็กน้อยว่า ฅนชั่ว ฅนเลวจะเปลี่ยนนิสัยและเปลี่ยนความประพฤติชั่วร้าย แต่ถ้าไม่แก้ไข ฅนประเภทนั้นก็ควรถูกกำจัดไปจากโลกนี้ เมื่ออ่านจบแล้ว เชื่อว่าผู้อ่านจะค้นพบอีกหลายสิ่งหลายอย่างที่นักเขียนยอดนิยมฅนนี้ได้แอบซ่อนไว้อย่างชาญฉลาด สาลินี คำฉันท์ ตุลาคม ๒๕๔๗
